About the 2009 Honda Pilot
The 2009 Honda Pilot is a frontline SUV. For this year, it has been given more
accessible third row seats; more amenities, and an engine that delivers improved
mileage.

Engine
The 2009 Honda Pilot powers on a 3.5-liter, i-VTEC, V6 engine that produces 250
horsepower at 253 lb ft of torque. It is available in four trims -LX, EX, EX-L and
Touring. Grade Logic Control, a feature that facilitates better handling during
ascent or descent, has been given for the five-speed automatic transmission.

Honda's Variable Cylinder Management, which switches off some of cylinders when not
needed; Hill Start Assist; four-wheel independent suspension; Variable Torque
Management and four-wheel drive system are some of the other highlights of the 2009
Honda Pilot's engine.

Interiors and exteriors
The third row, while being more accessible than before, also gets occupant space;
extra cargo space and legroom. A wide center stack and center console are prominent
for the interior. Other novelties include Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® technology;
Honda DVD Rear Entertainment System; rearview mirror with rearview camera display;
climate-control; Honda satellite-linked navigation systemT with voice recognition
and rearview camera; audio system; air filtration and USB audio interface and
tri-zone automatic climate control system with humidity control.

While the EX-L and Touring trims get acoustic windshield with double pane glass,
standard 17"wheels and tailgate with lift-up glass hatch are among the exterior
features for all the models.

Safety
For safety, some of the features the 2009 Pilot has been given are Advanced
Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure; brake assist; advanced dual-stage,
dual-threshold driver and front passenger SRS airbags; active front head restraints;
tire pressure monitoring system; anti-lock brakes and Lower Anchors and Tether for
Children (LATCH).
